Obituary for Michael John "Jack" Vaughn
Michael John "Jack" Vaughn, 74, of Anderson, passed away
on May 19, 2022, at his home He was born on January 9,
1948, in Anderson, Indiana.
Jack graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1966,
and from Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1970. He
served his country in the Marines from 1966 to 1970.
He worked as an Anderson Police Officer from 1970to
1984, and then several years as a car salesman.
Jack had a lifelong love of reading and art
(painting/drawing). In his later years, he enjoyed
working with wood and creating handmade walking sticks.
He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved animals,
especially dogs and horses. He lived several years in
Arizona where he enjoyed hiking and being in the desert.
He also developed a love of collecting coins.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Kevin)
Rittenhouse, and Shannan (Brandon) Vaughn; sister,
Beverly (Richard) Caster; granddaughter, Kaysha
Rittenhouse Marye, and her daughter, Emily Marye;
grandsons, Desmon Vaughn and Andrew Coppess; step-son,
Kelly (Sandy) Naselroad; step-grandson, Kyle Naselroad,
3 nephews and 2 nieces; special friend, Michelle Hunter;
and former spouses, Ramona Wilbur Knotts whom he married
in 1968, and Sandra Tanner Vaughn whom he married in
1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Russell
and Ruth Adeline Vaughn; and grandson, Alec Rittenhouse.
A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, May
26, 2022, at the Anderson Fraternal Order of Eagles,
1315 Meridian Street, Anderson, IN 46016 beginning at
5:00 pm.
