Donald E. Talbert, 68, of Fort Wayne,
passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical
Center. Born September 4, 1948 in Anderson, he was a son of the
late Benjamin F. and Betty J. (Ellis) Talbert. Donald was a CPA
with Deloitte Haskins and Sells along with Krouse, Kern & Co.
for over 15 years combined. He was an activities director for
various nursing homes in Fort Wayne before completing his CPE
classes at Lutheran Hospital. After completing his CPE classes,
Donald was a part-time Chaplain with Lutheran Hospital. He was a
member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church for over 38
years, teaching adult Sunday school class for over 30 years and
helping establish retired bible school. An avid reader and
sports fanatic, Donald enjoyed reading and watching MLB, Colts
Football and Purdue Basketball. He is survived by his loving
wife, Penny (Baker) Talbert of Fort Wayne; sons, Brian (Maria)
Talbert of Spencer, Ind., Kevin (Jennie Daniels) Talbert of
Caldwell, ID., and Jeremy (Lillian) Talbert of Fort Wayne; five
grandchildren; brother, Charlie Talbert of Ephrata, Penn; one
niece, and one nephew. Funeral Service will be 11am, Friday, May
26, 2017, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance
Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also
be from 5-8pm on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller
Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road., Fort Wayne. Burial at
Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
