Obituary for Elaina Kay Kintgen
Elaina Kay Kintgen,
age 67 of Bloomington passed away Sunday morning,
March 20, 2016 at the Indiana
University
Health
Bloomington
Hospital. She was born March 30, 1948 in
Anderson,
Indiana to Harry Stoner and Doris
Miller Stoner.
Elaina was a graduate of Madison Heights
High School and went on to receive her
undergraduate degree in Education from Indiana University.
After a brief internship in teaching at Edgewood
High School, she returned to Indiana
University
and received her MLS degree in Library Sciences. Elaina then devoted her
professional career to The Monroe County Public Library, where she spent over 38
years, primarily as head of technical services.
Her interests were wide and varied. She throughly enjoyed reading, gardening,
and horses. She found great pleasure with the Newfoundland dogs she and her husband raised
over the years, and her involvement with the Newfoundland Dog Club of America.
But found even greater pleasure in her family’s involvement with the Smithville
Youth Athletics that her two sons participated in.
Elaina leaves behind her husband Gene Kintgen of Bloomington; sons Gene Kintgen
and wife Ujala Dhaka-Kintgen of Fairfax, Virginia, and David Kintgen and wife
Stephanie of Annapolis, Maryland; grand children Arjun Dhaka-Kintgen, and
Katherine Kintgen, as well as many cousins, with whom she, being a single child,
was especially close. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of friends and family to share memories of Elaina will be held
Friday March 25, 2016 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at Allen Funeral Home and
Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37. Online condolences and memories may be
