Madison Heights High School Class of 1966
In Remembrance
We honor Classmate Sandy Williams
Sandy Williams
Following graduation Sandy stayed in Anderson and
worked for 1 year. In
Fall of 1968 Sandy entered nursing school and
became my roommate at St Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, Indiana.
I feel blessed that I should have my best friend from 7th grade with me
to share so many experiences and memories.
Upon Graduation Sandy joined
the Air Force and was stationed in Texas, while I went to Davenport, Iowa. In
December of 1973 Sandy returned home to spend the holidays with her family.
I too had come home and Sandy and I talked and planned to see each
other in a couple of days.
Unfortunately that was not to be..... During a family
gathering she fell, hitting her head at which time her brain stem broke.
She died within hours, as nothing could be done.
Sandy loved life, her family and her friends. Her sense of humor was
evident in every part of her being i.e., from working the JFK campaign
with Young Democrats to making our creations in Cooking class. We will all miss
her smile and her witty impromptu remarks. I thank God for loaning Sandy to
us for the short time we had her.
