Michael "Mike" Louis Cotton

   Mr. Michael Louis Cotton age 75 of Downings Creek Rd. Hayesville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday March 13, 2023 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Cotton was born on May 21, 1947 in Anderson, IN., the son of the late Donald Cotton and the late Betty Ludgenbell Cotton. Mike was a veteran of the US Navy. He was always fun loving, a jokester and loved being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Legg in 2015, two granddaughters, Katrina Clarkson, Elysabeth Winberry, sister, Chrysta Cotton and a brother, Charles “Chick” Cotton. Mr. Cotton attended Oak Forest Methodist Church.

   Surviving Mr. Cotton are his loving wife and best friend, Katie Owens Cotton of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Leslie and Rob Clarkson of Plainfield, IN., one son and daughter in law, Brian and Pam Dockery of Palaski, TN., eight grandchildren, Erica, Jessie and Chrysti Winberry, Alexis, Daulton and Sarena Clarkson, Blane (Buford McMasters) Dockery and Taylor Keith, sixteen great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

   A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday March  17, 2023 at 6:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Keith Knuckels officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-6:00 pm.
